Century National Bank names 2017 Janice A. Hutchison Memorial Scholarship Recipients
NEW CONCORD, Ohio – Century National Bank (Century) awarded the second annual Janice A. Hutchison Memorial Scholarships to John Glenn High School graduates, Brittaney Allen and Brittany Smith, at an award ceremony last week. Each student was presented with the $500 scholarship Friday morning.
The Janice A. Hutchison Memorial Scholarship was created by Century to honor the memory of their beloved associate, Janice A. Hutchison (1960-2015). Janice was a wonderful daughter, mother, wife, sister, and co-worker, who was passionate about her community. Through her involvement in many organizations and local schools, Janice made countless contributions to the New Concord area. The hope with the memorial scholarship is that Janice’s efforts will continue to serve as an inspiration to today’s and tomorrow’s leaders.
This year’s two award recipients, Brittaney Allen and Brittany Smith, upheld attributes that were so valued by Janice. Both graduating seniors proved to be community-oriented individuals with a commitment to their education.
“It’s an honor to present both students with such a meaningful award,” said Jeremy Morrow, manager of Century’s New Concord office. “Janice was a wonderful person, who we miss dearly. She would have been extremely proud of the efforts of both students in school and in our community. They are both great examples of ideal candidates to receive this award.”
The Janice A. Hutchison Memorial Scholarship will be awarded again next year to two graduating seniors of John Glenn High School. Applicants should be community-oriented individuals who plan to attend a two- or four-year educational institute.
